A Collection Inspired by the Art of Orren Mixer - Appaloosa
The Ieal Series celebrates the art of legendary equine and artist Orren Mixer and his famed "ideal" horse breed paintings.
Mixer's painting of "The Appaloosa" was commissioned by the Appaloosa Horse Club and was publicly unveiled in 1981. It is still on display today today in the ApHC's offices in Moscow, Idaho.
The painting depicts a handsome chestnut blanket Appaloosa stallion standing watch over a herd of mares and foals amid a pastoral landscape.
In recognition of his work for this colorful breed, Mixer was inducted into the ApHc's Hall of fame in 1998.
